A couple of weeks ago a priest had written in our Catholic News that he no longer takes part in the Seder and does not think that we as Catholics should do so for the simple reason we do not understand it. Most of the reasons he gives are historical and he asks how would we feel if Jews emulated our Mass and discarded things they did not like in the same way that some non Jews discard the bitter herbs.<br />He added that we must not presume to understand another’s tradition by merely imitating some of their gestures.
