The fruit and veg you grow yourself are bigger, fresher, smell better, less herbicidal and more colourful than shop-bought stuff. <br /><br />Mum always used eggplants at home, but it wasn't until I lived in Israel for 2.5 years that I truly valued eggplant's shape, colour and taste.
